Congratulations in getting started on your Notion journey. We’ve created this template to help you get started, figure out what notion is, how you can use it, and how you can get really good at using it.
This year we will be running tons of on campus events, fun sessions and 1:1s to help you integrate Notion into your university workflow. Find out how to use this powerful tool no matter what your use case is.
Without further ado, let’s get started!

Notion is an all-in-one workspace where you can essentially do anything you want! Now, if that sounds a bit vague or daunting, here are some specific Notion superpowers:
<aside> 📝
It's like Google Docs — Write, collaborate, include images, charts, links – create whatever your heart desires!
</aside>
<aside> 📊
It's like Google Sheets/Excel. Create powerful databases/tables, sort by type, sort by date, filter by whatever criteria you need. Databases are the core of Notion. Create a 'Notes' database filled with all your college notes that you can filter by module, add connected assignments, and record when you took the note – making it easy to find that one note where the lecturer said that weird thing you can't quite remember.

<aside> ✅
It's like Trello/ToDoIst. Using databases, you can transform how information looks. No boring table views here! Display your college tasks, drag items between to-do, in-progress, and completed columns, add colors, reminders, due dates, and assignments – perfect for personal tasks or organizing group projects!

<aside> 🤖
It's like ChatGPT. With built-in AI, streamline your processes, ask questions about YOUR Notion content, create study materials, fix spelling, add emojis to boring notes – all for a small extra cost (trust us, it's worth it!)
</aside>
<aside> 📓
It's like Microsoft OneNote. Take lecture notes, add photos, screenshots, and links to that documentary your lecturer mentions in every class. Highlight important content in fun colors, underline, bold, italicize – format however you want!
</aside>
<aside> 🌐
It's like your portfolio website. Anything you create in Notion can be published to the web. Create a database of your projects, add an 'About Me' section, publish and voilà! A no-code portfolio in minutes.
</aside>
<aside> 📅
It has your calendar. Connect your existing calendar to Notion and harness its power for planning, scheduling, appointments, and more!
</aside>
<aside> 📧
It has your email. Using Notion Mail, you can get the same functionality of Notion with your existing email.
</aside>
We’ve heard before all the stories of people starting to use Notion, but stopping because they think it’s too hard. We completely get it, it’s a new system, with a TON of features and functionality, but that’s why we are here! Once you get the hang of Notion, you’ll wonder how you ever had 20 different apps doing different things with resources all over the place.
